Fianna Fáil, in Government, is committed to extending the LUAS to Rathfarnham, subject to this Feasibility Study. This commitment is contained in our manifesto, “The Next Steps” (www.thenextsteps.ie).

I can inform you that, following very recent contacts between my office and the Railway Procurement Agency (RPA):

• Preliminary meetings have already taken place between the RPA and key relevant stakeholders with regard to the Feasibility Study.

• Work has commenced on the examination of possible feasible route alignments.

This work will, quite obviously, take considerable time, and I will continue to keep you as informed as possible on any relevant developments.
